Frequently asked questions
Is ski biking hard to learn?
Most riders feel comfortable quickly because the movements are intuitive and familiar.
Is ski biking a good alternative if I don’t ski?
Yes. It’s one of the best ways to experience Park City’s winter terrain without any experience as a skier or snowboarder.
Do ski bikes use chairlifts?
Yes, ski biking is designed for lift-served terrain where permitted. Park City allows ski bikes in all areas but we recommend avoiding the King Con lift.
Is ski biking allowed at Park City resorts?
Yes. Ski biking is permitted at select Park City resorts and operates within established resort guidelines. Harwood focuses on locations and terrain where ski biking is approved, lift-accessible, and designed to integrate safely with traditional downhill traffic.
What boots do I wear?
One of the greatest aspects of ski biking is that any rugged winter boot will work to get started. We highly recommend snowboarding boots and good ankle support.
How is ski biking different from snow biking or fat biking?
Ski biking is a downhill, lift-served winter activity designed for groomed snow terrain. Unlike fat biking, which is typically done on flat or packed trails, ski biking is built for mountain runs and chairlift access, offering a true downhill experience.
